What to Do If Agent Says the File Was Generated but Cannot Preview or Download?
Distinguish between the three stages of generating, providing the file, and opening the link, and only recover the failed parts.
First Confirm Whether the File Was Actually Provided Successfully
Generating a file in the execution environment does not mean the file has been successfully provided in the chat. The result area will differentiate between complete success, partial file success, provision failure, or being stopped. If it shows partial success, verify the successful files and failure reasons; do not assume all attachments can be downloaded just because the reply says "generated." When the task is still writing to the target file, it may not yet be suitable to retrieve the complete result.
Recheck Results from the Original Task
Open the file card or corresponding result area in the original chat to check the latest status. Previewing requires a valid file address; if preview is unavailable or loading fails, first confirm your current login and network, then reopen to check. Do not keep using old links copied from previous pages, and do not replace checking whether the file exists on the execution machine by rerunning the entire task.
Retry Only the Files That Need Recovery
If providing the file failed, you can ask the Agent to first verify the failed path and the actual file, then only process the failed items; if the backend task is not complete, first check the task status. Note that generating downloadable files also has size limits; split or export smaller results as needed according to the task. If the source file has been deleted or the environment cleaned, do not promise it can still be recovered; once important results are obtained, save them yourself to avoid relying solely on temporary previews.
