What Tasks Are Suitable for Standard?

Establish a baseline with everyday tasks, then decide if other tiers are needed.

Start with Clear, Small Tasks

The current menu positions Standard as the option for everyday tasks and routine automation. It is suitable for initially explaining errors, organizing short materials, generating checklists, or completing clearly defined steps. Whether it can execute tools depends on the Ask or Agent mode and the selected environment.

For example, first have it organize a timeline from a log segment and clearly indicate which judgments require more evidence.

Make Results Easy to Verify

Providing sufficient context is more helpful than repeatedly adding 'analyze carefully.' Write the goal, input, and expected output in the same request.

A suitable starting point is to ask for an explanation of a single error, listing the most likely causes and the order of verification, rather than immediately checking the entire system. After confirming the reliability of the first step’s conclusion, expanding the scope makes it easier to identify which types of tasks require additional model assistance.

  1. Provide the actual error and relevant versions, removing unrelated repetitive content.
  2. Request a table listing the basis, judgment, and next steps.
  3. Use original materials to verify key conclusions, and continue to inquire about uncertain points.

When to Consider Switching Tiers

If, despite sufficient materials, important constraints are still missed or complex reasoning cannot be completed, you can compare other tiers available on your account. Use the same input for comparison to avoid attributing differences caused by varying materials to the model. Higher-tier models do not guarantee zero errors nor do they automatically gain higher operational permissions.
