What Features Are Available to Free Logged-In Users?
Learn about the applicable scenarios for Free, local Agent capabilities, and why free does not mean unlimited usage.
Tasks Suitable for Free Users to Complete First
Free can be used for basic AI Q&A and also supports connecting your own local environment to run Agents. It is suitable for initially organizing test ideas, explaining errors, analyzing a small segment of results, and then attempting a clearly defined local task. Specific modes and available tools depend on the current interface.
Free logged-in accounts have different permissions than non-logged-in visitors. After logging in, you can manage tasks within your account; downloading the client is just another access method and does not create an additional unlimited free quota.
Tool Execution Location and AI Usage Are Calculated Separately
Local Agents execute commands on your computer, which must be online, connected, and have the tools required by the task. AI inference is still performed through Hackcat services and is not an offline model; local execution does not bypass account usage or concurrency limits.
Cloud Agents and higher model selections fall under paid capabilities. When you see upgrade prompts, first verify whether the trigger is due to model, upload, environment, or usage limits; do not interpret all prompts as login failures.
Start with a Free Trial
Free trials do not require purchasing a paid plan first. When paid upgrades are not yet available, you can still start using the free access provided on the page.
- After logging in, ask a short, specific question to confirm Q&A is working properly.
- When you need to execute commands, connect your computer under the “Desktop and Local Environment” section.
- Check usage limit prompts in the conversation; free accounts currently do not have a separate Usage tab. When limits are reached, follow the prompts to wait instead of repeatedly creating new tasks to retry.
