Hackcat

How to Enable or Disable the Notes Feature?

Control whether Hackcat saves and uses cross-task notes.

Understand the Purpose of Notes First

Saved notes are used to retain helpful information across tasks for personalization; they are different from the complete chat history of a single task. When you want the system to remember long-term context, you can use notes; when dealing with materials limited to the current session, consider whether long-term saving is necessary. Do not treat notes as an exact automatic backup of all conversations.

Toggle in Personalization Settings

Open Settings → Personalization, find the “Enable Notes” switch in the “Notes” section on the page. The page explains that this allows Hackcat to save and use notes to answer questions. After toggling, watch for any save errors; if you need to view specific content, go to “Manage Notes” in the same area.

  1. Go to Settings → Personalization.
  2. Find the Enable Notes switch and turn it on or off as needed.
  3. Confirm the save status and check the existing notes list.

Disabling Does Not Mean Deleting

The switch controls the notes feature; existing notes have separate management and deletion options. If you do not want certain information to be retained, delete the corresponding entry in the notes list; simply deleting the original task will not automatically clear these notes. After making adjustments, you can test with non-sensitive simple questions to check if answers align with current preferences. The list and the switch serve different purposes; checking both helps clarify the status of long-term information.
