Can I Restart and Update Immediately While a Local Task Is Running?
Separate task completion from application upgrades to avoid repeated execution when the status is unclear.
First Confirm Where the Task Is Running
Check the environment selector and task progress in the chat to confirm whether the task is running on the local desktop, another computer, or in the cloud. When a desktop update requires a restart, the local execution connection may be affected; do not assume that a restart will not interfere with commands just because the task interface is still displaying content. For tasks that are modifying files, wait for completion first, or proactively stop and verify the stop result.
Use 'Restart Later' Reasonably
After a successful update installation, the prompt offers Restart Now and Later options. If you still need to verify execution results, choose Later to first save important outputs, check files being processed, and record unfinished work. Stopping is not a rollback: content already written and external operations already performed still need to be confirmed manually. Do not start the same task again to 're-run' when the original task status is unknown.
After Restart, Verify from the Original Task
After reopening the application, wait for the desktop connection to be ready, then open the original chat to check the final status and existing outputs. If only the interface update was disconnected last time, you can use the provided reconnect option; if the task has failed or stopped, describe the parts that need continuation based on the actual file status. Performing a read-only check before resuming write operations is easier to avoid duplicate modifications than repeating the entire operation directly.
