How to Choose the Agent's Permission Mode?

Decide which actions require approval based on the task environment and operational risks.

Three Options with Different Meanings

The permission selection in the input area offers Request Approval, Automatic Review, and Full Access. Request Approval waits for confirmation on corresponding commands and file modifications; Automatic Review pre-screens actions when available; Full Access allows corresponding commands and edits without asking item by item.

Automatic Review is controlled by current availability and is not necessarily visible to every account.

Start from Task Needs

When using an unfamiliar environment for the first time, preparing to modify important files, or needing to check actions item by item, prioritize using Request Approval. After becoming familiar with the target and accepting the corresponding execution scope, decide whether to adjust.

For example, if you only want to view directories and analyze code, you can explicitly keep read-only at first, then decide when you find places that need modification. Permission options determine how actions are approved; task descriptions clarify what you want to accomplish. Clearly writing both reduces unnecessary interruptions.

  1. Confirm which computer or cloud environment is currently selected.
  2. Choose the permission mode suitable for the current task.
  3. Check the target, operation, and reason in the approval card.
  4. Recheck permissions when the task scope changes.

Permissions Do Not Change Environment Isolation

Full Access does not mean gaining permissions that the operating system does not originally grant, and Request Approval does not turn the local computer into an isolated container. Local commands still use the user permissions of the program that started the connection. No mode guarantees absolute operational safety; important files should first have recoverable backups. Judgments should be based on actual actions and environment.
