How to Make Hackcat Search the Web?

Specify the topic, source, and time requirements clearly so that the search results can be used for the current task.

Clearly Define the Search Target

Directly state what needs to be searched online, for example, "Search for the official installation documentation of this tool, verify the currently supported operating systems, and provide the source." The clearer the topic, product version, region, or time requirements, the easier it is to reduce irrelevant results.

Both Ask and Agent can perform searches when internet-connected tools are available; whether this capability is provided depends on the current service and session configuration.

Make Results Serve the Question

You don't have to request just a list of links. You can specify the fields to compare or ask to pick out the original documents from the search results for further verification.

A directly usable request is: "Prioritize official materials, only verify installation requirements and known limitations; attach the corresponding page to each conclusion, and explicitly state 'unconfirmed' for parts that cannot be found." This combines the search scope and acceptance criteria, making it easier to check the results.

  1. Explain the problem you want to solve and the applicable environment.
  2. Prioritize specifying official documentation or original materials.
  3. Request to distinguish between search summaries and the verified full text.
  4. Open key sources and check whether the content supports the conclusions.

When Search Fails or Quota Is Insufficient

Search failure does not mean there is no information online. You can adjust keywords, relax the time range, or provide known public URLs for continued reading. Searching consumes corresponding usage, and subsequent model analysis also consumes quota; do not try to bypass account limits by repeatedly executing the same query. First, read the current error message.
