How to Stop Local Agent and Confirm the Computer No Longer Receives Tasks?
First finish the current tasks, then exit the connection in the terminal running the client.
Handle Currently Running Tasks First
If there are still Agent tasks running in the chat, decide whether to wait for them to complete or use the stop operation. Check the final status and any generated files, and keep important results first. Stopping a task and closing Local Agent are two different actions: the former targets task execution, the latter ends the machine connection; neither should be understood as automatically undoing previous commands or file modifications.
Press Ctrl+C in the Correct Terminal
Locate the terminal on the target computer where Local Agent is actually running, and press Ctrl+C there. The client will enter the cleanup and exit process, then check if the terminal returns to the command prompt and verify the connection status in Settings → Remote Control. Do not assume the connection has ended by pressing shortcuts in unrelated terminals; also, do not use resetting the entire account token as a substitute for routinely stopping a single client.
Restart When Needed Next Time
When you need this computer again, you can return to Settings to copy the current connection command, run it again in the target terminal, and wait for the ready prompt. After reconnecting, verify the target in the Agent environment selector. If cleanup or task stopping fails upon exit, first check the actual processes and file status on the machine to avoid directly rerunning commands that may have side effects. The recovery method for desktop connections is different and should be handled within the desktop application.
